Drawing time-lapse of Courntey Hadwin Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer on America’s Got Talent 2018
Courtney, from Hartlepool England, came out as a quiet and shy 13 year old and then let rip with a stunning rendition of Hard to Handle by Otis Reading. Courtney’s electric performance and voice was compared to Janis Joplin by Howie. The other judges, Mel B, Heidi Klum and Simon Cowel were all visibly blown away during Courtney’s performance and said so afterwards too. Host Tyra Banks who was off stage with Courney’s Dad was equally blown away.
Judge Howie Mandel told Courtney the story of how Clive Davis once discovered Janis Joplin. “Oh my gosh, you are not from this era. You’re from a whole different era. I’m not Clive Davis, I’m Howie Mandel, and I can’t sign you to a record deal. The only thing I can do for you, young lady, is give you this” then he hit the Golden Buzzer. Courtney was moved to tears by Howie’s words and Golden Buzzer and her dad come on stage to hug her.
After the show was broadcast Courtney posted on Twitter;“I didn’t know what to expect when I auditioned for AGT but the golden buzzer was more than I ever could have dreamed of. Thank you so much Howie Mandel I am so happy and can’t thank you enough xx”
The portrait drawing is A4 and shows Courtney singing Hard to Handle and the elation of the America’s Got Talent Judging panel as Howie presses the Golden Buzzer. Drawing with Faber-Castell series 9000 and TK-Line pencils.
