It is lovely to do the reflections in the metal that contrast with the folds in the leather. Below the Detail image is a full picture of the Rossi art so far.

Here is my Valentino Rossi 2017 oil painting WIP update. The Yamaha YZR M1 MotoGP prototype race bike is complete and so are Rossi’s Danes gloves. Just The Doctor’s leathers and AGV crash helmet to go now.

Here is a quick little update on my new Valentino Rossi ‘The Doctor’ oil painting of him on the 2017 Yamaha YZR M1 MotoGP prototype race bike.
This little shot shows the pencil line, then turps in first with a brown line to seal the graphite and then washed in with very thin oil colour to give the canvas a tooth for me to add the background and detail layers to the painting.

Joey Dunlop’s body is pretty much done now on my 2000 125 Ultra Lightweight Isle of Man TT oil painting. I will complete his left glove when doing his left leg too. This is just a detail crop from the full painting.

Here’s my oil painting of Legendary TT racer Joey Dunlop in the 2000 Ultra Lightweight TT on his beloved 125 two stroke Honda motorcycle. This short work in progress time-lapse and shows the section of Joey’s Arai Crash helmet being painted.

In October 2016 I was contacted by Craig Watson, UK Sales Director of Kawasaki UK, about a possible painting of Jonathan Rea as it was looking ever likely that Jonathan would win back to back World Superbike championship titles on the ZX-10R.
When it came to the last race weekend at Local International Circuit in Qatar Jonathan secured the WSB title in the first race and the secret project began.
