The Big Draw October 1st to 2nd November 2014

1st of October to 2nd November is the world’s biggest drawing festival #thebigdraw starts today. Let’s get everyone drawing! 1 Oct – 2 Nov #art The Big Draw so get your pencils out and have a doodle. Here’s my Doctor Who Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman Timelapse portraits to inspire you. Don’t get freaked out by them but check out my youtube channel via the vids and go to the ‘How to Draw’ channel for a lot of basics videos. Enjoy 🙂

Lies, damn lies and statistics and drawing!..

Interesting little article about drawing in the Independent that states ‘Toddlers who can draw at four are more likely to grow up to be clever’…

Grand statement and based on twins too which we were blessed to have. From the article ‘The correlation is moderate, so our findings are interesting’ and ‘Drawing ability does not determine intelligence; there are countless factors, both genetic and environmental, which affect intelligence later in life.’ which means ‘Thanks for the grant this really means little at all but we had to publish something for the money we had’.

And was this pointless study funded by taxpayers? Who knows but I will say that drawing and art are very rewarding at any age and not just for toddlers – though some art art schools and in galleries never progress from toddler style art 😉

Do enjoy any creative activity you may be involved in.
