When the internet goes wrong and right – Greggs and Google

Lovely little article about an offensive Greggs Logo that appeared when searched for in Google yesterday and how well Greggs the Bakers handled the incident on Twitter while it was being sorted by Google.

Life’s thorns and thistles get everywhere it seems.

Lies, damn lies and statistics and drawing!..

Interesting little article about drawing in the Independent that states ‘Toddlers who can draw at four are more likely to grow up to be clever’…

Grand statement and based on twins too which we were blessed to have. From the article ‘The correlation is moderate, so our findings are interesting’ and ‘Drawing ability does not determine intelligence; there are countless factors, both genetic and environmental, which affect intelligence later in life.’ which means ‘Thanks for the grant this really means little at all but we had to publish something for the money we had’.

And was this pointless study funded by taxpayers? Who knows but I will say that drawing and art are very rewarding at any age and not just for toddlers – though some art art schools and in galleries never progress from toddler style art čśë

Do enjoy any creative activity you may be involved in.

University Art Schools just in it for the money

Just a quick thought and a warning to any hopeful college students thinking of going to University to study art. The Universities are in it for the money – that is not a wrong thing as they have wages and bills to pay but you need to know this.

Here is a photo from my Facebook feed today and I will unpack the misleading advertising (IT IS AN ADVERT – BEWARE) below:

Scottish Indedendence and the Cost of Post?…

Just a quick thought Vlog on what will happen to the cost of post if Scotland votes for Independence.

I currently can post a large Letter to Northern Ireland and it costs £1:20 and if it goes to Sourthern Ireland it costs £3:70 as it is not part of the UK and classed as a foreign country. Will this happen to Scotland and the post? Will a CN22 customs form be needed as they will not be able to join the EU straight away either? Just a thought from someone who posts prints to Scotland for my work.
